The visual language course for photo enthusiasts
    • The author hosts »The Art of Photography« on YouTube with 890,000 subscribers.
    • Non-technical approach
    • For everyone who wants to make their pictures "speak".

Photography is a language. If we use it correctly, we can convey messages, feelings, and attitudes through our images. But to do this, we must first understand the elements of this language and how to use them in our photographs.

This is a book for anyone who believes good photography isn't just about technique. Ted Forbes explains how the visual language of photography works and how to use it to achieve your artistic goals. What role do focal length and framing play? How do colors and contrasts work? How do we balance the visual weight of our subjects? How do we work with symbols and metaphors? Forbes answers these and many other questions chapter by chapter, conveying the three most important things when learning a new language: vocabulary, rules, and practice. This will help you learn to speak with your own unique voice in your images and express yourself in a truly personal way.

@nikonredneck, please do your own p-v.club site search (because my skills are subpar), and if it is not already available, I would be very happy to get it to check my understanding.

    PS. Thank you!!

Great - please post for our perusal (if ya want to). I guess you can post here or create a separate thread. He's (the author) is a pretty down-to-earth guy - I actually purchased this and plan to start reading it within the next few weeks. I'm trying to find David Hobby's
"The Traveling Photographer's Manifesto: A Guide to Connecting with People and Place" to share here -

It seems you found the site standard. Others are swisstransfer, mega and google drive. Again thanks and don't forget to hide the goodies.
