    I think for some people, for some reason, some WorkUpload links do not present properly - I do not understand why - perhaps location or something . . . ?

    If this is the case for some locations then use a VPN. As long as the original link is up there should not be alternative links in the thread.

    Are you asking me to remove the alternative link? You are free to use that link and place into your primary for those that do not have (or use) a VPN [use of a VPN is not; and should not be] a prerequisite of participation in the forum. I'm not sponging "likes" from ya - just trying to help out a peep in need . . . ;):cool:

    EDIT: I remotely remember [maybe?] that WorkUpload might ban a user's IP if it detected an abundance of bandwidth use over a defined time frame - does anyone recall this? Maybe a free VPN allows a work-around . . . but not sure . . .

    Why should I use your link? My link is working, workupload is common here and I am certain that in some rare cases where it cannot be accessed VPN will help.
    If I replace the link, the next one may have problems and we change it again?
    I understand you are trying to help, but why? The TO should decide about an alternative link.
    Or do you want to follow ponnu_78 around and put alternatives links whereever he can't download? ;)

    Workupload has been prohibited in this forum since 2024 since there are so many problems with it. George made a whole post about it to call attention to the change since it was originally recommended before Workupload made changes. It's a bit like playing whack-a-mole with people who keep using it because it's what they're used to, though ;) Please do not use workupload in the future, Troxx. In this context, Nikon is correct, but...

    As far as mirrors are concerned, the rule is that mirrors may not be placed unless the OP is dead. If a mirror IS placed because the OP is dead, the OP has the right to request that it be removed (thanks for removing, Nikon) once fixing the OP unless they've allowed it to be dead for a year, in which case they lose the right to dictate mirrors. So in this context, Troxx is correct.

    - Specific to WorkUpload - I think if one registers, then the share link stays alive considerably longer [but the duration is not clearly defined anywhere that I could see] -

    I've been using this host as a registered user and the links seem to retain - but going forward I'll opt for an alternative . . .

    No worries! I know some of us (particularly those of us that no longer have to care about likes) have always opted for the personal policy in our threads that the more mirrors, the better and more helpful it is for everyone (i.e. the way mirrors normally work in other forums that don't have a like-based trophy point system lol), but that's always been more of a personal exception to the rules/carte blanche permission that folks like you, me, mr.c and a few others have had on our posts. But it's good to remind ourselves that we've been the exceptions and that the rules do actually have something to say about it at a global group level ;)
