I think they meant that they missed the reup before and were referencing your previous posts in this thread.

By the way, as part of the new rules that were introduced on July 10, admins included a clarification on the whole workupload thing. The prohibition has been expanded to any file host that retains files for 30 days or less. So as this most recent batch of files expire, you'll want to replace them with a host that lasts longer. I've been tracking changes here to try to make it easier (and more transparent) to keep abreast of changes: https://p-v.club/threads/p-v-club-rule-change-update-tracker.62500/

If these rules get any more prohibitive, my shares will drop sharply.

In theory it shouldn't be though - if you're using a greater-retention hosting site. When I registered with WorkUpload - the 30-day limit does not seem to be an issue - but I'm limited to my experience on this forum and think others are having problems [I've files that are still active for over a year]. So - with having the tighter rules being re-visited for recommended hosts . . .

I'm switching over to using Mega and Pixeldrain (although Pixeldrain I'm testing currently to see if DL bandwidth allotment has a limitation on UL speed once the 24-hr cap is reached; I think it does - so that really does slow things down considerably). It's obviously a change for me and one that self-admittedly is a wee-bit more tedious; I found the simple drag-and-drop feature of WorkUpload effortless by comparison. I guess I'm a limbic creature with preference for a path of least resistance.

I'm gonna have to try the recommendations "with focus" as updated:

@lkngood - your attention to re-upping requests is unparalleled and your ranking is an attestation of your presence within the forum. Please don't slo yer roll - cause I've (and many others) have been usin' lots of what ye been sharin' - as always - thanks . . .

That's basically what I've landed on, too. I detest 1fichier and won't use it, so I'm basically a combination of free Mega accounts and pixeldrain at this point. I tend to only go with Mega when I want to host something and not have to reup it as often - so I typically reserve this for my really large (file size) shares. I'll create a few fake accounts to get their free 20 GB at a pop and then I just have to make sure I log into the account(s) once every 90 days. They have some unadvertised limitations, though: their download cap kicks in at 3GB now (they keep lowering it), and it's not a "slowing" of the download like other providers, it's a hard stop which causes problems for people if they're in the middle of downloading a file and can't change their IP with a VPN until it finishes (Mega often glitches when trying to resume files). That's why I package anything I upload to Mega in chunks less than 3GB - so other members can basically download a file, switch IP address, download a file, switch, etc.

Pixeldrain never limits your upload speed - it's only download speed that gets slowed - it kicks in after 6GB/rolling 24 hours, so I package files for Pixeldrain in chunks of less than 6GB so folks can use their VPN to get around the limit (which is strictly IP based for free users). Also, while there is a max of 10GB per file that you can upload to Pixeldrain with the free account, there's no storage limit with a free account, only the file retention limit of 60 days from date of last download. So I just stay logged in with Pixeldrain and it acts exactly like Workupload - just drag and drop the files. I did like Pixeldrain better when they kept files for 90 days, but I guess it is what it is, eh? The biggest annoyance I've had with pixeldrain is that sometimes their hash check when uploading can get stuck. It used to be a bigger problem than it is now, but at the time I *think* I narrowed the problem down to certain slower/cold storage drives I had. So now I only upload from my faster drives, and I haven't had a problem with this since.

Good to know - I was having a slow-crawl upload problem earlier today [approx 4 GB file - ISO] and thought it was a limitation; but rebooted and realized it was probably my router* or whatever and retried - was fine thereafter. Thanks for this info - a great help in solidifying some of our present options - others may additionally find this of benefit.

*Great info re hash-check and parity-check on the UL side - will need to make sure I'm utilizing those faster drives and consolidate space for that purpose going forward.
