Judging from the samples, it looks fairly accurate to the last generation of modern K64 Kodachrome processing.

I was barely able to test it because I had to go into work but it looks very promising...

 

Been running tons of tests on these.

They are slightly better than Digistock. Most of the critical colors are accurate, but where these seem to fall apart, is with certain skin tones and skin tone transitions. I wish VSCO and Cobalt would work together on these. VSCO got the skin tones 99% correct but failed with certain colors. Cobalt got the colors right, but the skin tones fall apart.

C'est la vie...

That said...these are still VERY good. Unless you're neurotic like me, most people won't be able to tell a real Kodachrome scan from a fake one made using these as a base.

Thanks for sharing!! I think these will become the default for many photographers looking to replicate the look of Steve McCurry.

Added them in lightroom but can't find them under profiles. Does anyone know why?

You need the base pack that is camera specific.

 

Yes I got those for sony a7RIV but maybe I need the A7RIVA (which is basically the same camera). I thought they should work but apparently not

 

They need to make money somehow...

I'd also recommend Imperfect Kodachrome. Cheap if you actually want to buy it.

 

Also, I feel Kodachrome Elite comes very close to the overall late K14 processing of K64.

Over the years I've accumulated a few slides with actual Kodak processing and I have worked for years profiling the targets and refining them.

They look VERY different from Kodachrome Elite but the starkest contrast has come from my K25 slide done in the early 90's and the one provided by Cobalt.

According to Cobalt, they had a chemist with Kodak processing information. While they might be able to develop it, I don't think it's as accurate as the old Kodak Kodachrome methodology employed at places like Dwayne's Photo.

 

yes I just edited the files manually and added 'A' next to the model, and they seemed to be working now, I can finally see the base pack and the other color profiles.
